Overview
What if two people in your family need hospitalization in the same year? Or you are planning for a child and want maternity expenses covered under the same policy?
Niva Bupa has designed some of its family health plans around these exact needs. ReAssure 2.0 offers unlimited restoration of the base sum insured for subsequent claims, while its Booster+ benefit can increase your available coverage over time. Aspire takes a different route, with M-iracle covering expenses related to maternity, IVF, surrogacy, adoption, and newborn care, subject to policy terms.
But these features alone should not decide which plan you buy.
In this guide, we compare Niva Bupa’s major family health insurance plans, including their coverage, premiums, waiting periods, drawbacks, and who each plan is best suited for.
List of Niva Bupa Health Insurance Plans for Family
1) ReAssure 3.0
ReAssure 3.0 is Niva Bupa's newer comprehensive health insurance offering, with ₹5 lakh, ₹10 lakh, and unlimited base sum insured options. It retains features such as ReAssure Forever, which is triggered after the first paid claim and can replenish up to the base sum insured an unlimited number of times, and Booster+, which can carry forward unused base cover up to 10X. It also offers 60 days of pre-hospitalisation and 180 days of post-hospitalisation cover, home care, domiciliary treatment, AYUSH treatment, and optional benefits such as Claim Safeguard+, OPD cover and global treatment cover. However, benefits such as room eligibility, modern-treatment limits, ambulance cover and Lock the Clock vary materially across its Classic, Select, Elite and Black variants, so buyers should compare the variant carefully rather than treating ReAssure 3.0 as one uniform cover.
2) ReAssure 2.0
Niva Bupa ReAssure 2.0 is a comprehensive health insurance plan built around its ReAssure Forever benefit. Once the first eligible claim is paid, ReAssure Forever is triggered and provides additional cover up to the base sum insured for subsequent eligible claims, an unlimited number of times, subject to policy terms. The plan also comes with no room-rent cap, 60/180 days of pre- and post-hospitalisation cover, Lock the Clock, and Booster+, which carries forward unused base sum insured. The exact Booster+ accumulation depends on the variant. For instance, Platinum+ allows accumulation up to 5X the base sum insured, while Titanium+ allows up to 10X.
3) Aspire
Niva Bupa Aspire is designed largely for younger buyers and families planning for future healthcare and maternity expenses. It offers benefits such as ReAssure Forever, Booster+, Lock the Clock+, and Fast Forward, which can bring forward the base and M-iracle sum insured of a multi-year policy for use from the first year. Its M-iracle benefit covers specified maternity-related expenses, including antenatal care, normal and C-section deliveries, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), surrogacy, and adoption, subject to the applicable maternity sum insured and waiting period. For Platinum+, Titanium+, Platinum and Titanium, the current M-iracle waiting period is 9 months. Aspire also offers optional worldwide treatment through the Borderless benefit and Cash-Bag rewards that can be used towards premiums, deductibles, co-payments and OPD expenses.
4) Health Recharge Super Top Up
Niva Bupa Health Recharge is a super top-up health insurance plan that works alongside an existing base policy to provide extra coverage at a lower cost. Once the chosen deductible is crossed, the plan kicks in to cover large medical expenses, making it ideal for families who want higher protection without paying high premiums. It can cover multiple claims in a year after the deductible is met.
