Overview
You've paid health insurance premiums for years and never made a claim. Where does all that money go? With most plans, it's simply gone, because insurance is meant to give you peace of mind, not returns.
Care Health's Ultimate Care plan flips that idea. It refunds your first year premium if you stay claim-free, and your cover keeps growing every year, whether you claim or not.
But is a bigger, growing cover with money-back perks actually worth the premium? In this Ultimate Care Health Insurance review, we break down the plan’s major features, waiting periods, add-ons, sample premiums, and key drawbacks.
What Is the Ultimate Care Health Insurance Plan?
The Care Ultimate Care Health Insurance plan was launched in January 2025 as an industry-first money-back health plan. It's designed for people who want broad, flexible coverage rather than a basic policy.
Key Details of Ultimate Care
Instant Cover: Which Pre-Existing Diseases Are Covered From Day 31
Most health plans make you wait 3 years before covering a Pre-Existing Disease (PED). But with Ultimate Care's Instant Cover add-on, these conditions get covered after just a 30-day waiting period:
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol)
- Asthma
- Hypothyroidism
- Obesity
- Coronary artery disease (if angioplasty was done more than a year ago)
If your condition isn't on this list, you can still explore a separate PED waiting period reduction add-on, subject to underwriting. This helps reduce the waiting period for any PED not covered in the Instant Cover list from 3 years to either 2 or 1 year. This makes Ultimate Care genuinely useful if you or a family member already manages one of these conditions.

Unlimited Restoration and the Unlimited Care Benefit Explained
- Unlimited Automatic Recharge: If your sum insured runs out mid-year, either partially or fully, it is automatically restored to 100%. This can happen multiple times in the same policy year, for both related and unrelated illnesses.
- Unlimited Care: Separately, the plan also offers an Unlimited Care benefit as a paid add-on. This lets a single, large claim during your policy's lifetime be paid up to infinity, regardless of your chosen sum insured.
Don't confuse the two, as they are separate benefits.

Loyalty Boost and Premium Payback in Ultimate Care Health Insurance
- Loyalty Boost: After 7 consecutive claim-free years, Care adds an extra 100% of your sum insured, on top of the coverageyou've already accumulated (base + bonus). This applies once in the policy's lifetime.
- Premium Payback: This is available as a mandatory paid add-on. If you don't make a single claim for five consecutive years, Care refunds your base premium paid for the first year. Stay claim-free for another five years, and they do it again. It's essentially a reward for staying claim-free.
- Loyalty Bonus: The plan includes a built-in loyalty bonus of 50% up to 100% of the SI. So a ₹15 lakh policy becomes ₹22.5 lakh in year 2, ₹30 lakh in year 3, regardless of whether you made a claim.

Pros and Cons of Ultimate Care Health Insurance
Pros
- Built-in Loyalty Bonus grows your sum insured by 50% to 100% over two years, regardless of claims, and you can increase this even more with the Infinity Bonus add-on.
- Unlimited Automatic Recharge restores your sum insured multiple times in the same year, for related or unrelated illnesses.
- No room rent caps and no copayment on the base plan.
- Instant Cover add-on brings the PED waiting period down to 30 days for 7 common conditions.
Cons
- The plan's major features like Infinity Bonus, Unlimited Care, and Claim Shield all cost extra as add-ons.
- The attractive year-one premium comes from a discount that reduces to 0% by year four, so real costs rise sharply after that.
- The plan is launched in 2025, so it doesn't have a long claims track record yet.

Conclusion
Ultimate Care brings genuine value to the table, with a built-in Loyalty Bonus, unlimited automatic restoration, and faster coverage for common pre-existing conditions through Instant Cover.
But the low entry premium isn't the full story. Once the welcome discount reduces by year four, your premium lands at full price after a series of hikes you've already absorbed, and many customers might want to drop the policy at this point. And starting fresh elsewhere at an older age often costs more than what they saved. Pricing the plan lower at entry while loading it with rich features also leaves the insurer less room than it appears, so expect sharper-than-average revisions at renewal.
It's also a newer plan, launched in 2025, and we'd like to see how claims play out over time before we can fully vouch for it. Our recommendation from Care Health is Care Supreme, since we have firsthand experience with how the insurer settles claims under that plan. It's also part of Ditto’s recommended best health insurance plans in India.
