Overview
Aditya Birla’s Activ One VYTL plan is a comprehensive health insurance offering that builds upon the features of the Activ One MAX base plan. It includes day-1 coverage for 7 chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, making it ideal for individuals with lifestyle-related diseases. The plan also offers a specified number of cashless OPD consultations (tele) and pathology tests based on the PEDs diagnosed at the time of purchase, mental illness protection, and incentivized wellness through 100% HealthReturns. With coverage options ranging from ₹5 lakhs to ₹2 crores, Activ One VYTL is tailored for those seeking proactive health management.

The Activ One VYTL plan by Aditya Birla Health Insurance differentiates itself from the MAX base variant with its focus on chronic disease coverage and management. The highlight of this plan is the day-1 coverage for 7 chronic conditions, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, obesity, coronary artery disease, and asthma, which eliminates the standard waiting period seen in the MAX variant. This makes VYTL particularly beneficial for individuals managing lifestyle-related diseases who require immediate financial support for treatments and hospitalizations.
Another enhancement is the inclusion of specified diagnostic test coverage, which supports proactive health monitoring—a feature absent in the MAX plan. The incentivized wellness program through 100% HealthReturns adds further value by rewarding policyholders for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, benefits like mental illness coverage and Super Reload ensure comprehensive protection during multiple claims in a policy year.
However, the pre-existing disease waiting period remains at 3 years, similar to other variants in the Activ One series. While VYTL offers advanced features tailored for specific health needs, it has a lower loyalty bonus (starting at 50% p.a. and goes up to 100% on he base sum insured), so policyholders should carefully evaluate whether its specialized benefits align with their healthcare requirements.

STANDOUT
If you are already dealing with Asthma, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Diabetes mellitus, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Obesity, or Coronary Artery Disease (PTCA done prior to 1 yr), then the insurer will cover you from day 1. However, if you are dealing with other pre-existing diseases including thyroid, kidney stones, etc., then you’ll have to wait 3 years before they start covering these complications.
Customisable
Reduces the premiums, restricts the Day 1 coverage for listed ailments, and imposes 3 years of PED waiting periods.
Co-payment
The insurer will bear the entire cost of treatment (up to the sum insured). You won’t have to pay a single penny. Meaning this policy has no co-payment.
Room Rent
Shared room, single room, deluxe room or any room that’s available. The insurer won’t nitpick on your choice of room since the policy has no restrictions on room rent.
Customisable
Change Any room to Single Private room or Shared Accommodation.
Disease sub-limit
No funny business here. If your insurer hasn’t explicitly stated they won’t cover a certain illness, you can claim the full amount up to the sum insured, irrespective of the disease you’re dealing with. Meaning this policy doesn't impose the dreaded disease wise sub-limits.
Pre/Post hospitalization
No worries if the doctor had to run a host of diagnostic tests before or after hospitalizing you. The insurer has your back. They will cover this amount in full for a pretty reasonable duration - 90 days before you are hospitalized and 180 days after discharge. This includes the cost of medication by the way.
